In the current academic year, the International Academic and Business Council is rapidly expanding its activity aimed at building lasting cooperation between the university and outstanding people related to science, business and non-profit areas.  At the beginning of the academic year, the Council appointed: its new Chairman, Vice-Dean of the School of Humanities & Fine Arts, Dr. Adam Świątek Deputy Chairperson, Dr. Helena Błazińska, a classical languages academic teacher, and 7 members, representatives of the world of science and business.

The activities of the Council are diverse and encompass a range of projects, among them regular lectures as part of the International Classroom and workshops for the UEHS students led by experts from different economic sectors. The most recent lecture, “Reality and translation” was held by Prof. Barbara Lewandowska-Tomaszczyk from the University of Applied Sciences in Konin on 27 November 2023. Students of philological and English-language studies gained insight into the secrets of the translation process, particularly its cultural aspects, translation strategies and equivalency which play an important role in translating a text into a foreign language. The talk provided a great platform for cross-cultural discussion with an outstanding specialist.

On 30 November 2023, the Council organized a workshop for Management students entitled “The role of strategy and communication in building employee engagement”. The interactive class was led by Andrzej Stella-Sawicki, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at CloudFerro S.A. The workshop aimed to familiarize students with the key elements that contribute to creating strategies positively impacting employee engagement and to highlight the role of communication in creating a transparent and inclusive work environment.

More workshops and other activities are planned in the upcoming months to bring students into direct contact with representatives of the rapidly changing world of science and business.
