We cordially invite you to participate in the inaugural International Conference on Finance for the Common Good, scheduled for August 8-10, 2024, in Dayton, Ohio, USA. This event is jointly organized by the Department of Economics & Finance at the University of Dayton and the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw, Poland.

The conference aims to encourage theoretical and empirical research that underscores the significance of finance and capital markets for societal well-being, guided by the principles of Catholic Social Tradition. The perspective of the common good emphasizes the need to develop financial systems that serve broader interests and the well-being of society, rather than focusing solely on short-term profits for a select few. It advocates for a more inclusive and socially responsible approach to finance, aligning financial activities with a sustainable future for individuals, families, communities, and nations.

Researchers are particularly invited to present findings related to the impact of contemporary financial systems on the common good of society, focusing on the following themes:

  1. Economic Inequalities and Social Injustices
  2. Environmental Stewardship
  3. Household Finance
  4. Value-Based Investing

The conference sessions will primarily take place at the Arcade Innovation Hub in historic downtown Dayton, with a limited number of online sessions available. Participation is free, and we welcome financial researchers to join us in exploring these critical topics.
