A Distinguished Honor for an Extraordinary Individual
The ceremony opened with remarks from Professor Konrad Janowski, Rector of the University of Economics and Human Sciences, who highlighted the significance of the honorary doctorate:
“The origin of this prestigious title dates back to medieval times when it was awarded to individuals who, despite not holding formal doctoral degrees, made exceptional contributions to philosophy, science, art, or culture. […] Those awarded the honorary doctorate are expected to possess not only profound knowledge but also a commitment to spreading values and ideas that positively and enduringly impact society. This title carries with it the responsibility to be an ambassador of wisdom, ethics, and humanistic values that should underpin all academic and social endeavors. Today, we proudly affirm that Professor Andrzej Blikle embodies these expectations in an exemplary manner.”
A Life of Multidimensional Impact
Professor Jerzy Hausner, the honorary doctorate supervisor, praised Professor Blikle’s achievements and multifaceted contributions as a scholar, entrepreneur, public figure, and individual. In his address, he remarked:
“The breadth and variety of Professor Blikle’s activities are astounding. More importantly, his work is universally accompanied by a legacy of goodwill and an enduring positive impact.”
