By taking the Applied Economics specialization at the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw, you will develop the competencies that enable you to develop your dream career and earn the high salaries that economists enjoy. The graduate program in this specialization is an option for those who completed the undergraduate program in Economics and related fields (e.g., Finance and Accounting, Business Analytics, Banking, Management), who wish to obtain a master’s degree in Economics and specialize in the ability to implement the principles of this science in social, economic, and political life.
Graduating from Applied Economics at UEHS is a sure step toward advancing into managerial positions and gaining higher salaries and new growth prospects. The program will allow you to expand your qualifications with knowledge of specialized issues in modeling economic processes, analyzing phenomena or forecasting changes in specific areas, such as development economics, health economics, education economics or monetary economics. The specialization is a continuation of the specialization module offered in the final year of the undergraduate program in Economics.

Applied Economics – what can you do after graduation?
As a graduate in Applied Economics at UEHS, you can apply for specialized and managerial positions related to forecasting, analysis, and economic consulting. You will use your competencies in areas such as:
- economic, financial, social policy
- public and private sector economics
- business consulting, investment consulting
- banking, finance, auditing, controlling
- domestic and international trade
You can also start your own business or consulting business, or even work in the media as a journalist or economic commentator.

Graduate studies

The curriculum of the graduate program in Applied Economics focuses on the directional subjects of international economics, economic policy, or process modeling and business decision support. Graduates acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to implement economic principles in political, economic, and social life.
FIRST YEAR OF STUDY
In the first year, students explore knowledge in their field-specific and specialization courses. They also participate in a master’s seminar, in preparation to write a thesis the next year.

SECOND YEAR OF STUDY
The second year of study is a time to expand knowledge of further directional and specialty issues and to continue the master’s seminar. After writing a master’s thesis and passing the diploma exam, graduates receive a master’s degree in economics.

By choosing to study at UEHS, you can be sure that the tuition fee will not change throughout the duration of your studies. You can pay the tuition fee once for the entire year of study or spread over a semester payment. This allows you to decide how you want to plan your expenses.

Scholarships - easier than you think
While studying at UEHS, you can take advantage of a wide range of financial support from the state budget and European funds, as well as benefit from special discounts with UEHS discount program
You can submit most scholarship applications quickly and easily through your online account.
In the academic year 2022/2023, the University of Economics and Humanities in Warsaw awarded 350 Rector’s Scholarships, ranging from PLN 525 /month to PLN 1025 /month, depending on the average or achievements. For outstanding sport, artistic or scientific achievements, the Scholarship Committee awarded scholarships of PLN 600 /month.

A sports scholarship may be awarded to a student who excels in sport achievements at least national level. In addition we also encourage our students to take part in additional support programs- eg. the National Academic Representation.
Young sportsmen can count on financial support in the amount of PLN 600 /month.

A scholarship for people with disabilities may be awarded to a student who has a disability certificate, a disability degree certificate, a ZUS certifying physician’s certificate, a disability group certificate or a certificate of permanent or long-term incapacity to work on a farm.
In the 2022/2023 academic year, depending on the degree of disability, 150 scholarships for people with disabilities were awarded, ranging from PLN 1275 /month to PLN 1575 /month.

The allowance is a form of emergency financial assistance. Any student who found himself temporarily in a difficult life situation resulting from random events beyond the student’s control can apply for it.The allowance may be granted twice in one academic year, and the allowance is not granted twice for the same random event. Difficult life situations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic are an exception.
In 2021, we granted 40 allowances for a total of PLN 197,200. The allowances, depending on the student’s situation, were paid in the amount of PLN 3,000 to PLN 5,000 at a time.
