New Media studies at the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw is a specialized program created as a response to market demand. Information in the era of information society development is worth its weight in gold. By choosing this program, you will learn how to use it to your advantage. As part of the New Media specialization, you will gain practical skills to create innovative content for both social and traditional media. You will learn the principles of leading social media, monetization, and running a business. Curriculum for the New Media and PR specialization. We designed the New Media studies for all those who want to acquire real-life professional skills. Strictly theoretical knowledge is reduced to what is necessary, that is, we bring to the forefront the aspects that will enable you to work in your dream profession after graduation.

It is a rapidly developing discipline. It has its applications in business, administration, the non-profit sector, and other social areas. One of its most important aspects is online advertising. Therefore, New Media and Public Relations, as a fast-growing field, requires qualified professionals to smoothly navigate the world of media and the Internet. New Media and Public Relations is an interdisciplinary field that requires innovative ideas, a modern approach to media, creativity, and the ability to navigate the labyrinth of social media, However, the assistance of new media and public relations specialists is also needed in companies that manage and control the media.

New Media - What can you do after graduation?

You will gain the necessary skills to work in the field and start your own business, according to your own idea. If terms such as youtuber, influencer, vlogger/blogger, podcaster or streamer make your heart beat faster, look no further. This is a direction created with you in mind. In addition, after graduation we will prepare you to work in social media as a content creator or a social media manager. Moreover, you will be able to find employment as a marketing specialist, press agent, or influencer marketing manager. Also, as someone with extensive knowledge of media ethics, you will be able to oversee compliance with the rules in the area of new media and public relations. New media, i.e., those that operate on the Internet, are not regulated by the media law. This is due to the open nature of the online world and changing communication patterns. Internet communication based on the many-to-many model precludes the monopolization of information. You will also be ready to develop digitization projects. Having studied new media and public relations, you will be prepared to work in companies where you will assist marketing activities. You will also be able to work on developing marketing projects, training, documentation and concepts in the field of new media and PR.

The education model is focused on the courses concerning social communication, PR, and new media. The study program includes in-depth and theoretically underpinned knowledge of social media channel management. Also includes techniques of information visualization, principles of conducting, promotion of business in the new media, sources of information in the media, techniques of image creation. Through a well-thought-out program of study, you will gain practical skills that will open up many avenues for your personal and professional development.

First year of studies

												

In first year of study, courses are common to both specialization paths (Social Communication and PR and New Media). The purpose of the subjects will be to provide in-depth, theoretically underpinned knowledge of journalism as well as communication.

Second year of studies

												

Starting in the second year, dedicated courses for the New Media specialty module begin. The purpose of these will be to prepare you to work as a freelance journalist, an influencer who can create and promote their materials on the Internet. With the beginning of the third semester, students will begin an internship and a thesis seminar.

By choosing to study at UEHS, you can be sure that the tuition fee will not change throughout the duration of your studies. You can pay the tuition fee once for the entire year of study or spread over a semester payment. This allows you to decide how you want to plan your expenses.

Scholarships - easier than you think

While studying at UEHS, you can take advantage of a wide range of financial support from the state budget and European funds, as well as benefit from special discounts with UEHS discount program

You can submit most scholarship applications quickly and easily through your online account.  

Scholarship
The scholarship may be awarded to any student who obtained an average grade not lower than 4.5 in a academic year given.

In the academic year 2022/2023, the University of Economics and Humanities in Warsaw awarded 350 Rector’s Scholarships, ranging from PLN 525 /month to PLN 1025 /month, depending on the average or achievements. For outstanding sport, artistic or scientific achievements, the Scholarship Committee awarded scholarships of PLN 600 /month.

Sports scholarships

A sports scholarship may be awarded to a student who excels in sport achievements at least national level. In addition we also encourage our students to take part in additional support programs- eg. the National Academic Representation.

Young sportsmen can count on financial support in the amount of PLN 600 /month.

Special scholarships for disabled people

A scholarship for people with disabilities may be awarded to a student who has a disability certificate, a disability degree certificate, a ZUS certifying physician’s certificate, a disability group certificate or a certificate of permanent or long-term incapacity to work on a farm.

In the 2022/2023 academic year, depending on the degree of disability, 150 scholarships for people with disabilities were awarded, ranging from PLN 1275 /month to PLN 1575 /month.

Allowances

The allowance is a form of emergency financial assistance. Any student who found himself temporarily in a difficult life situation resulting from random events beyond the student’s control can apply for it.The allowance may be granted twice in one academic year, and the allowance is not granted twice for the same random event. Difficult life situations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic are an exception.

In 2021, we granted 40 allowances for a total of PLN 197,200. The allowances, depending on the student’s situation, were paid in the amount of PLN 3,000 to PLN 5,000 at a time.
