We have great pleasure to announce that on February 22, our university started cooperation with “PKP Informatyka” spółka z o. o., belonging to the PKP Group. The signatories of the agreement signed at the headquarters of PKP Informatyka were, on the part of the university, the Rector, Dr. Hab. Konrad Janowski prof. AEH, and on the part of PKP Informatyka, President of the Management Board Tadeusz Turzyński and Member of the Management Board Łukasz Strzelecki. The ceremony was also attended by: Deans of the Faculties of Information Technology, Dr. Jerzy Królikowski and Piotr Michalski, M.A., and of Social Sciences, Dr. Hab. Tomasz Kownacki prof. AEH together with the representative of the fields of Internal Security, Cybersecurity, Forensic Science and Criminology, Dr. Tomasz Wierzchowski, and invited students of the Security and Forensic Sciences Scientific Club.
According to the agreement, cooperation between our University and PKP Informatyka will be carried out in the following areas:
- consultancy provided by PKP Informatyka to the University in the scope of assessing the current and future needs of the socio-economic environment in order to best adapt the study program and teaching content to them, in particular with the aim of best preparing students for future professional work;
- PKP Informatyka employees conduct meetings with students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Information Technology in order to familiarize them with the possibilities and conditions of cooperation;
- participation of Partners in mutual image, marketing and promotional activities;
- implementation of other practical activities enabling students of Cybersecurity and Computer Science to undertake professional practice, internships or social projects;
- assessing the knowledge, skills and competences acquired by students as part of a block of subjects jointly implemented by partners;
- initiating and implementing joint projects of a scientific, practical or implementation nature;
- and taking actions aimed at obtaining external financing for jointly implemented projects.
During the meeting, participants could listen not only to the lecture of the Rector and the President of the Management Board on cooperation plans between the university and the IT business, but also visit the Security Operations Center (SOC) dealing with monitoring events in the area of cybersecurity and learn about the problems solved by the cybersecurity team.
