UEHS support for bachelor’s degree candidates on obtaining a student visa
General Procedure Explained
Candidates applying for a student visa are now required to submit a document confirming their eligibility to apply for a bachelor’s degree (first-cycle studies), issued by the Polish Education Superintendent Office (in Polish – Kuratorium Oświaty). Given the need for swift decision-making regarding the new requirement for the recognition of high school diplomas, the UEHS has prepared a below comprehensive procedure for bachelor’s degree candidates.

How to Obtain a High School Diploma Recognition Step-by-Step Guide
- Legalization of the High School Diploma
This is the first and essential step in obtaining confirmation from the Education Superintendent Office. Your high school diploma must have an apostille so please ensure this as a first step.
If apostilles are not issued in your country, you can get legalization at the Polish consulate in your country. - Request for Assistance
In the second step, please fill out the UEHS assistance request form to help obtain the recognition document. The form is available in your Extranet System. You can also send an email to: recognition@vizja.pl - Document Preparation with the UEHS Support
Next, the UEHS staff will assist you in preparing and submitting the complete set of documents to the Polish Education Superintendent Office. The following documents will be required for preparation:- Completed application form for recognition of a foreign diploma
We can fill out this form for you however you must sign it. In case you are a minor, the application form must be signed by your parent or legal guardian.
A sample is attached to this guide (Attachment 01 and 01A) - Legalized original foreign diploma
This is the document obtained in Step 1. - Certificate confirming the right to continue education at the appropriate level in the country where the diploma was issued, including the right to apply for higher education, along with details of those rights
This document must be signed and stamped by the high school that issued your diploma.
A sample is attached to this guide (Attachment 02) - Certificate containing information on:
- The curriculum content confirmation,
- The planned length of study at the high school,
- The grading scale used in the country where the diploma was issued.

A sample is attached to this guide (Attachment 03) - Polish translations of documents issued in a foreign language
We will handle these translations in Poland for you. - Copy of the diploma holder’s ID
You must prepare this document and send it to us. - Power of attorney for the UEHS staff to represent you before the Education Superintendent Office in obtaining the diploma recognition document
This document must be signed by you or, if you are a minor, by your parent or legal guardian.

- Completed application form for recognition of a foreign diploma
- Document Verification Before Sending to Poland
Before sending the complete set of documents to Poland, please upload scanned copies through your account in the Recruitment System and wait for them to be checked and approved by the UEHS staff. - Submitting the Application to the Education Superintendent Office
Once we receive your original documents and complete the translations, an authorized the UEHS staff member will promptly submit them to the Education Superintendent Office. - Receiving the Diploma Confirmation
When the Education Superintendent Office issues the confirmation document, the UEHS staff will collect it and send it to you via courier to the address you provided. - Adding the Confirmation to Your Visa Application
Once you receive the document, you can include it with the other documents required for your student visa application.
Information About Fees
Since the procedure requires certified translations into Polish and fast delivery of documents, the total fee for the procedure is 200 EUR. This fee covers all costs except for sending your documents to the UEHS in Poland and the cost of obtaining an apostille or legalization in your country.
Information About Refunds
Candidates who choose to remain in the current recruitment process and wait for a document from the Education Superintendent will be eligible for a full refund of tuition fees (minus the recruitment and administrative fees charged by the UEHS), provided they submit a refund application by the end of November 2024 and present one of the following:
- A document confirming the refusal of a visa.
- A document verifying that the decision from the Education Superintendent was issued after November 30 2024
