Why choose this field of study?

Energy Studies at the University of Economics and Human Sciences  in Warsaw is a course of study designed for people who see their careers in the energy sector and want to take an active part in shaping and implementing processes that modernize this key industry for the development of the economy. If you are interested in gaining a thorough, substantive knowledge of the energy system and the safety of its subsystems, and at the same time want to develop the practical competencies desired by employers in the energy industry – a bachelor’s degree in energy studies at AEH will give you a great start!

The curriculum for the Critical Infrastructure specialization, taught as part of the Energy Studies major, covers key issues to understand the processes involved in the operation of the energy sector – with a particular focus on security. In addition to the course topics, such as conventional and unconventional energy sources, the energy supply chain, energy storage and sustainable economic development, for example, you will learn specialty subjects on sector risks, risks and crisis management. Two other specializations offered in the Energy Studies bachelor’s degree program are: Sustainability and ESG and Ecological Policy.

Energy Studies: Critical Infrastructure – what sets us apart?

  • We will prepare you substantively and practically to develop a career in the structures of the energy sector.
  • You will gain knowledge and qualifications supported by a first professional practice.
  • After completing the program, you can set your sights on further development and a managerial career in the energy sector.
  • Instead of a written undergraduate thesis – you will complete an original social project that will develop your project work skills.
  • You will learn from experienced AEH lecturers and practitioners from corporations and energy companies.
  • You will study in an international environment! (We are at the top of the “Perspektywy” ranking in the Internationalization category).

Critical Infrastructure – what can you do after graduation?

Studies in Energy Studies and the specialization Critical Infrastructure will prepare you for jobs in the energy industry offered by, among others:

  • government departments and local government units responsible for climate strategy, environmental protection, regional funds or environmental and energy policy;
  • conglomerates producing and acquiring energy from conventional and unconventional sources;
  • energy distribution and storage companies; refineries, combined heat and power plants and entities operating photovoltaic or wind farms;
  • power clusters and cooperatives.
    Are you interested in developing your own business related to the energy industry in the future? The directional education you will get at AEH will certainly help you do so!

This program
is for you if:

You’re interested in energy, but don’t want to focus solely on technical engineering skills.

The idea of a pro-environmental energy economy is close to your heart and you want to have a hand in shaping it.

You have analytical skills that you want to develop into practical professional competence.
