Vice-rector for international cooperation Dr. Maciej Kluz represented VIZJA University during the Management Committee meeting of the international project COST Action CA22110 – LIAISE (Cooperation, development and cross-border transfer of Industrial Symbiosis among industry and stakeholders). The meeting took place on February 10, 2026, at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon in Portugal. Representatives from academic communities across more than 40 countries participated in the proceedings.
Implementation of COST Action LIAISE project goals in Lisbon
The meeting served to present project results and discuss the status of specific working groups. Participants analyzed the COST evaluation report covering the first two years of tasks. During the session, the schedule for scientific activities for the coming months was established, taking into account the priorities of the upcoming grant period. The action plan includes organizing training sessions, research mobility, and workshops focused on transferring research results to industrial practice.
Dr. Maciej Kluz appointed cluster leader in the LIAISE project
As part of a matchmaking session, participants worked in thematic groups, focusing on initiating joint publications and new research projects. Dr. Maciej Kluz took on the role of leader for thematic cluster number 6 – Education & Capacity Building. This group were responsible for developing educational programs, increasing participant competencies, and strengthening the institutional potential of the partners forming the consortium. Work within the cluster also includes planning joint teaching initiatives implemented on an international scale.
International cooperation of VIZJA University in European research structures
The presence of the university representative in the management structures of COST Action LIAISE relates to the strategy of strengthening the international activity of VIZJA University. Participation in the committee’s work enables direct influence on the directions of research on industrial symbiosis in Europe and building relations with foreign scientific centers. These activities result in the institution’s involvement in European research and development initiatives.
