On 11 February 2026, a ceremony was held to sign a cooperation agreement with the Warsaw Metropolitan Police Headquarters. The document was signed by His Magnificence Rector Konrad Janowski, PhD, Professor at VIZJA University, and Warsaw Police Commander Junior Inspector Krzysztof Ogroński, PhD.

Joint activities for safety

The aim of the partnership is to systematically strengthen the safety of students, employees and the entire academic community, as well as to develop effective mechanisms for responding to contemporary threats that may occur on the university premises. The key elements of the cooperation will be educational, preventive and organisational activities aimed at raising awareness of safety and shaping responsible attitudes in the academic community.

The agreement provides for the development of ongoing cooperation in the prevention of and response to threats, including those related to violence, aggression, addiction, crisis situations and mass or terrorist incidents. Under the agreement, police officers will conduct training for students, academic staff and administrative employees, covering both the principles of responding to situations threatening life and health, as well as practical procedures for dealing with crisis situations.

Education, internships and exchange of experiences

The cooperation will also cover the area of teaching and research. Students of the VIZJA University will have the opportunity to undertake internships in police units and thus gain experience in public administration structures and learn about the practical aspects of the functioning of the services responsible for security.

The cooperation also involves the implementation of joint projects promoting the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of public safety, in particular through educational and expert initiatives and preventive measures.

A long-term partnership

The partnership is another step in building a modern and responsible academic environment, where security issues are treated as a strategic element of the university’s functioning and a shared responsibility of all institutions involved in the academic community.

As Konrad Janowski, Rector of VIZJA University, emphasises:

I am convinced that the signed agreement will not only contribute to increasing the level of safety on the university premises, but also to building a culture of responsibility, mutual care and conscious response to threats. This is an important signal that we treat safety as a common good and a shared responsibility – both for public institutions and the academic community.
