UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals at the Heart of an International Visit

In April 2026, our university hosted students from the Stanisław Lem High School in Stanisławów Pierwszy, along with a youth delegation from Bernardus College in Oudenaarde, Belgium. The meeting was organized as part of a school exchange program. The participants traveled to Warsaw to share their experiences and insights regarding the UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The delegations were officially welcomed by Dr. Giuseppe Leonardi, Dean of the School of Human Sciences. Following the welcome, the Welcome Team presented the university’s educational offerings and guided the guests through the Vizja Park and the Babka Tower campuses.

Project Workshops and UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals

A key part of the visit featured specialized workshops led by Marta Okraska from the School of Humanities & Fine Arts. During these sessions, students had the opportunity to develop their own projects based on specific ecological and sustainability principles. The practical segment of the workshops involved creating jewelry and accessories from recycled materials. Using repurposed resources allowed the participants to directly test and implement solutions that support environmental protection.

Exchanging Experiences and Building Values

This project enabled Polish and Belgian youth to collaborate on vital social and environmental issues. Beyond the academic focus on UNESCO SDGs, the participants engaged in cross-cultural dialogue, breaking barriers and building relationships based on mutual respect and civic values. The meeting provided a unique platform to discuss how sustainable development goals can be integrated into the daily lives of students across different European countries.
