What can you do after graduation?

Graduating with a master’s degree in Family Studies, you can take up a job as a teacher of the Family life preparation classes. In addition, you will also be able to find employment in the private family counseling sector or apply for management positions in social welfare institutions. Potential jobs include social service centers, social service centers, day care centers, and child care facilities. With a comprehensive education, you will also be able to start your own business involving professional psychosocial support services. You can also open your own business providing educational services such as workshops, training, coaching, or prevention programs.

The study program implemented at the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw is fully compliant with the Standard of education preparing for the teaching profession. Upon completion of the study, the graduate obtains the right to practice as a teacher of Family life preparation classes. As part of their studies, students simultaneously receive training in psychology and social welfare in the broadest sense.

FIRST YEAR OF STUDY

Beginning with the first semester, the courses necessary to obtain teaching credentials for the Family life preparation classes are included. As part of the first year, the student receives comprehensive psychological and pedagogical preparation and workshop preparation for teaching in educational institutions. Starting from the second semester, the first block of courses is devoted to the didactics of the Family life preparation classes In addition to courses preparing to work at schools, family studies includes courses designed to provide in-depth knowledge and skills related to the work of a family assistant.

SECOND YEAR OF STUDY

The second year of study continues with courses that directly prepare students to teach Family life preparation classes. The curriculum includes a greater share of family psychology courses aimed at teaching the necessary skills for their profession. As part of the second year, students begin preparing their master’s thesis. Beginning in the third semester, students are required to complete an internship (placement), divided into three separate blocks.

Scholarships - easier than you think

While studying at UEHS, you can take advantage of a wide range of financial support from the state budget and European funds, as well as benefit from special discounts with UEHS discount program

You can submit most scholarship applications quickly and easily through your online account.  

Scholarship
The scholarship may be awarded to any student who obtained an average grade not lower than 4.5 in a academic year given.

In the academic year 2022/2023, the University of Economics and Humanities in Warsaw awarded 350 Rector’s Scholarships, ranging from PLN 525 /month to PLN 1025 /month, depending on the average or achievements. For outstanding sport, artistic or scientific achievements, the Scholarship Committee awarded scholarships of PLN 600 /month.

Sports scholarships

A sports scholarship may be awarded to a student who excels in sport achievements at least national level. In addition we also encourage our students to take part in additional support programs- eg. the National Academic Representation.

Young sportsmen can count on financial support in the amount of PLN 600 /month.

Special scholarships for disabled people

A scholarship for people with disabilities may be awarded to a student who has a disability certificate, a disability degree certificate, a ZUS certifying physician’s certificate, a disability group certificate or a certificate of permanent or long-term incapacity to work on a farm.

In the 2022/2023 academic year, depending on the degree of disability, 150 scholarships for people with disabilities were awarded, ranging from PLN 1275 /month to PLN 1575 /month.

Allowances

The allowance is a form of emergency financial assistance. Any student who found himself temporarily in a difficult life situation resulting from random events beyond the student’s control can apply for it.The allowance may be granted twice in one academic year, and the allowance is not granted twice for the same random event. Difficult life situations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic are an exception.

In 2021, we granted 40 allowances for a total of PLN 197,200. The allowances, depending on the student’s situation, were paid in the amount of PLN 3,000 to PLN 5,000 at a time.
