Why choose this field of study?

Do you know what makes some political ideas quickly fade away , while others ignite crowds and change the world? Why is it that one speaker appeals to you and another just talks about something – even if they want to convey the same thing? How much truth is there in the statement that the end justifies the means and where is the line between persuasion and manipulation? And finally, how is it possible that one politician captures the attention of an audience from the very first speech and grows into a leader, while another takes months or even years to build up his or her recognition and position?

Behind all of this is the art of politics – the art of juggling emotions and arguments, conscious image creation, masterful rhetoric and effectively ‘selling’ your ideas, charisma and passion. The good news is that this art can be learnt, and the even better news is that with us you will do it at university level, under the guidance of not only outstanding lecturers, but also experts and practitioners.

If you see your future as a political leader, parliamentarian, councillor or head of a non-governmental organisation, the Art of Politics programme at the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw was created for you!

Art of Politics, undergraduate studies – what sets us apart?

  • You will be taught the practical craft of politics – the programme includes numerous engaging workshops on, among other things, social engineering, negotiation, persuasion, rhetoric, the organisation of political events or the art of political debate.
  • You’ll gain a workshop on self-presentation, working in front of the camera, constructing public speeches and participating professionally in press conferences.
  • You will learn in practice the whole process of planning and creating a political career – from analysing trends and researching the electorate, to raising finance for political activities, to consistently building your image and position.
  • You will gain a foundation of political science knowledge, learning about key policy concepts and the specifics of the various central government departments – which will help you to consciously and consistently develop your activities in your chosen sphere of public space.
  • You will learn to shape your public image using modern communication and PR tools – including social media.
  • You will explore proven strategies for successful political debates and responding to criticism and image crisis.
  • You’ll learn from experts and practitioners – including well-known politicians and journalists who we’ve invited to work with you as tutors.
  • In your diploma year, you will carry out your own community project and undertake a valuable work placement.
  • You will develop in a creative, international academic environment (we are among the top universities awarded in the Perspektywy 2023 ranking in the Internationalisation category).

Art of Politics – what can you do after graduation?

This subject of study is ideally suited to your needs and expectations if you are planning a consistent and conscious development of your political career, seeing yourself in the role of a party leader, MP, senator, local government officer or councillor. The studies will also prepare you to work as a chief of staff, election campaign organiser, party or NGO spokesperson, as well as an image and strategic advisor in the world of contemporary politics.

This program
is for you if:

You have the soul of a politician, an activist, a community activist – and you want to bring your ideas and goals into the spheres of political, social and economic life.

You are interested in political marketing and the strategy behind the success of front-page political and social activists.

You are looking for practical studies that will allow you to stand out in the public and media space and succeed in politics.

New requirements for visa applications

Note: important information for bachelor’s degree candidates (first-cycle studies)

In line with the new requirements for visa applications introduced by Polish consulates around the world, candidates applying for a student visa are now required to submit a document confirming their eligibility to apply for a bachelor’s degree (first-cycle studies), issued by the Polish Education Superintendent Office (in Polish – Kuratorium Oświaty). Previously, this document could be provided after arrival in Poland, but under the new regulations, it must be submitted along with the visa application. The procedure for master’s degree candidates remains unchanged.

While the new requirement may slightly extend the visa process, the UEHS is fully prepared to support bachelor’s degree candidates throughout this period. To ensure there are no disruptions to their education, candidates who cannot arrive in Poland before the start of classes will be able to participate in lectures online via MS Teams.

We also have developed a range of effective solutions to provide comprehensive assistance in obtaining the required documents. Our support includes:

  • preparing the necessary paperwork
  • certified translations into Polish
  • submitting the application to the Education Superintendent Office
  • promptly ensuring the recognized diploma is sent back to the candidate’s home country.
