Vizja: Openness – Connecting Worlds, Creating the Future

The project titled “Vizja Otwartości – Łączymy Światy, Tworzymy Przyszłość (Vizja: Openness – Connecting Worlds, Creating the Future)” is implemented by VIZJA University in the period from 01 October 2025 to 30 September 2027 (the unit implementing the project is the International Center of VIZJA University).

The project is implemented under the program of the National Agency for Academic Exchange entitled “Welcome to Poland – call 2024”. The source of funding for this call is European Union funds under the program European Funds for Social Development 2021–2027 (FERS), granted for the implementation of the NAWA project entitled “Support for higher education and science institutions in servicing foreign nationals and Polish citizens going abroad” (NAWA project number: FERS.01.05.IP.08-0003/24; Beneficiary – the National Agency for Academic Exchange). In implementing the project in question, VIZJA University is a beneficiary of the NAWA project – it uses the financial resources of the NAWA project and contributes to the achievement of its objectives.

Project objective:
The main goal of the project is to strengthen the capacity of VIZJA University in internationalization and to increase the University’s competitiveness in the international arena by achieving the following specific objectives:
1. improving English communication skills;
2. understanding and respecting diverse cultural norms;
3. building positive relationships with international individuals;
4. facilitating the handling of formal and administrative matters;
5. raising awareness of global standards for international collaboration;
6. establishing and equipping dedicated spaces for serving international students.

The project’s objective will be achieved by 30.09.2027.

Target group:
The target group of the project consists of 70 academic staff members teaching on English-taught programs (teaching staff and research-and-teaching staff) and 40 administrative staff members working in the International Center or cooperating with the International Center in providing services to international individuals (students and academic staff) employed at VIZJA University.

Main project tasks:
1) Task 1 – Training to enhance the internationalization competencies of academic staff.
A set of training activities aimed at enhancing the language and communication competences of academic staff, including activities that develop effective cooperation and the delivery of teaching-related support for individuals from abroad.

2) Task 2 – Training to enhance the internationalization competencies of administrative staff.
A set of training activities aimed at enhancing the language, communication, and managerial competences of administrative staff, including activities that foster effective cooperation and the provision of administrative services for individuals from abroad.

3) Task 3 – Study visits to international academic centers.
A set of activities aimed at organizing visits by representatives of academic and administrative staff to foreign academic institutions, activities designed to enhance the effectiveness of cooperation with international partners, enable the adaptation of best practices and global standards, and build the image of the University as an institution open to international cooperation.

4) Task 4 – Establishing and equipping a dedicated space for serving international students and academic staff.
A set of activities related to the development of a space dedicated to supporting individuals from abroad (the International Center of VIZJA University), including the creation of two new positions—activities aimed, among others, at improving the level of administrative services and contributing to increased internationalization and an enhanced image of the University as an institution welcoming to individuals from abroad.

Project results:
1. Development of academic and administrative staff competences – acquisition of new language, communication, and management competences related to the admission and support of individuals from abroad, as well as individuals going abroad.
2. Improvement of the quality of services for individuals from abroad – streamlining administrative procedures and developing the administrative service space for individuals from abroad, including support tools for these services.
3. Internationalization of the University – increasing the number of individuals from abroad studying and working at the University through improved conditions and the implementation of good practices in international cooperation.
4. New infrastructure for serving international stakeholders – designation and development of a space dedicated to supporting individuals from abroad, as well as the provision of informational materials in various languages.
5. Improved efficiency of organizational activities – implementation of procedures enabling fast and efficient handling of formal matters and the creation of two new positions at the International Center of VIZJA University.
6. Increased attractiveness of the University on the international market – enhanced competitiveness through the adaptation of services and the educational offer to the needs of individuals from abroad and more effective international promotion.
7. Strengthened international cooperation – development of contacts with foreign universities creating better conditions for initiating joint research and educational projects.
8. Sustainable project outcomes – developed organizational and infrastructural solutions, including a new space for supporting stakeholders, combined with increased staff competences, will ensure long-term and high-quality support for individuals from abroad.

Architectural Accessibility:
The project support site and the Project Office are located on the campus of VIZJA University at ul. Okopowa 59 in Warsaw. The building has no architectural barriers that negatively affect project implementation and includes numerous adaptations for persons with disabilities. Key accessibility features include:
1. Accessible entrance – appropriately wide front doors, level surface transitions, a doorbell before the entrance, and assistance available from reception staff.
2. Accessible elevators – wide, spacious, equipped with Braille buttons, audio announcements, and capable of bringing wheelchair users, cane users, visually or hearing‑impaired individuals, and others with health challenges to every floor.
3. Barrier‑free interior space – corridors, stairwells, exercise rooms, lecture halls, the library, the cafeteria, and administrative offices are free from horizontal and vertical obstacles. Persons using wheelchairs, canes, walkers, or other orthopedic aids, seniors, and parents with strollers can move around without difficulty.
4. The University allows entry for individuals accompanied by a guide dog.

The Office for Persons with Disabilities coordinates activities across all areas of accessibility at VIZJA University (office address and contact information: Okopowa 59, 01‑043 Warsaw; 2nd floor; Room 233; email: bon@vizja.pl; phone: 22 536 54 12). VIZJA University also implements the project titled “Vizja Home – A University for Everyone” (from 01 January 2025 to 31 December 2028). The project enhances accessibility at the university for persons with special needs, including those with disabilities. More information about this project can be found on its website.

Information about the accessibility of the sites where the project’s training sessions will take place.
Training sessions conducted on-site will take place in classrooms on the VIZJA University campus at ul. Okopowa 59, Warsaw.
1. Accessible parking – underground parking (levels –1 and –2) provides spaces for people with disabilities that are clearly marked, free of barriers, and allow direct access to any floor of the building. Detailed and continuously updated information about architectural accessibility is available on the VIZJA University Office for Persons with Disabilities website.
2. The building is well connected via Warsaw Public Transport. The nearest bus and tram stop to the entrance is the “Niska” stop. Both stops support low‑floor access. On the route from the stops to the building entrance there are no architectural obstacles such as stairs, bridges, or high curbs. Along the sidewalk adjacent to the university’s premises, guide lines for visually impaired or partially sighted people enable safe travel from VIZJA University to the nearest city transport stop. Information on public transport accessibility for people with disabilities can be found on the “Barrier‑Free Communication” website operated by Warsaw Public Transport.
Detailed information about the training sessions will be provided directly to participants well in advance of the project’s support services going live.

Any individual who has specific needs related to participation in the recruitment process, use of project support measures, access to project information, communication with Project Personnel, or other special requirements related to project implementation may report them to the Project Office. Reports of specific needs can be submitted using the designated communication channels. In the case of special communication needs, it is possible to receive individual support in this area (e.g., use of an induction loop, conducting a one-on-one in-depth consultation, holding a conversation in a room isolated from external sound stimuli, or the option to communicate via an authorized person).
